Vul'cak moves his head, from left to right, from right to left, and from left to right. His eyes closed, and his mouth opening and closing mutely. Then his eyes popped open. Hoarsely, he says, "No, I won't."
Pain. His wife replies, "You had seen the creature being analysed and you know better than anyone what happened to Peter's parents, you know that."
Hearing the telepathic message, he says aloud, "I must go to the bio-lab at once. Admiral is right. I do not know how much longer I can hold out against the pain. It will lead to insanity and death." The doctor says something, and the Vulcan security members released their hold on the patient.
At the bio-lab, Vul'cak enters the experimental chamber, and sits facing the light source. His wife says, "Call his admiral to witness this. Proof that this parasite will be dead as a doornail." The doctor sees the logic in this, and calls Eric, who passed the message to Mia.

"I'll go." he replies as he heads to the transporter room

S'pock asks, "Who is there? I can hear you."
Eric says, "Eric to Urb." Urb [OC] replies, "Urb here. " Eric replies, "Captain Michael is coming over, and he is going to the bio-lab. When we get there, switch the light on." "Aye, Captain. Urb out."
Eric goes to the Transporter Room with his First Officer.
"It will be a total spectrum of light. Blinding for a human telepath." Vul'cak tells Mia. His wife sits on the chair near the chamber.

Micheal successfully beams over and is greeted by Eric and his first officer.
"I adjust, you don't know how I work. I'm one of the depressingly few people that can stare at the sun without protection." Mia replies

S'pock replies, "No. My inner eyelids protect my eyes, and I will be temporarily blinded. My family will be able to see again." Eric and S'chn takes Michael to the bio-lab, and Urb turns on the chamber light, after giving them protective goggles to wear. Vul'cak takes the full blast of the light, and he shut his eyes. A few minutes passed before Urb says, "Completed." Then he switched off the light, and S'Chn takes a jar. The doctor opens the chamber door, and Vul'cak gets up before leaving the chamber. S'Chn quickly contains the parasite, and shows the palm-sized parasite to Michael.  |

S'pock replies, "It came from inside of us. That is what cause us Vulcans to feel the pain. We have limited tolerance level before it leads us to insanity and death."
Vul'cak replies, "Yes it is, Captain. I am free of it and the pain." His wife goes into the chamber and became free of the creature and the pain too. He says, "Put them under the uv ray, and they will dissolve, Captain Eric."
Eric says, "Ahh, you were the Vulcan who had advised me earlier. It is a great pleasure in meeting you." Then he takes Michael and the Vulcans to the Bridge, and orders that the UV satellites be deployed on Vulcan. This was carried out, and Vul'cak says, "Set them moving around the planet."
Eric says, "Do what he tells you to do, Lieutenant." "Aye, Sir." The satellites were constantly moving around the planet.
Telepathically, Vul'cak replies, "Yes, I will rest and recover now."

S'pock replies, "Once the planet is free, you are invited to my home, my new friend. You can eat and drink plomeek to your heart's content. I have been around humans for forty-four earth years."
Vul'cak replies, "I will forgive you, Spirk. I have seen my captain and I am happy."
Eric asks, "What is your name?" "Vul'cak....son of Keras." "Vul'cak of the Enterprise? The advisor to the Commander in charge of the Enterprise when the Commodore was onboard? The Commodore is my first ancestor, and his son double-up as a Science Officer. My second had an advisor."
Vul'cak replies, "Yes. I advised the current Vulcan Ambassador. I also advised William Decker, since Spock was not available at first."

Then he goes with Michael to the Transporter Room.

Eric came to see his guests off, and was amazed Vul'cak was able to navigate the corridors with ease. He says goodbye, and orders the operator to beam Michael and Vul'cak off. The operator beamed the guests off Williamatt.
On the Gunslinger, Vul'cak stays at his captain's side.

Spot brushes Vul'cak's legs, and picking her up, he just listen to the orders. She sees his eyes are closed, and she meows.
"It is temporarily, Spot. I will be able to see again." Vul'cak tells the cat.

Vul'cak obediently goes to his quarters and he sits on his bed, talking to Spot about the good times they had on the Enterprise.
"After the death of Captain Kirk, I could not bear to be on another Enterprise. It did not feel right without my brother but since my son needed my many experiences, I served on Captain Picard's ship. I have seen Kirk die. With you on board the Gunslinger, I will get through."

Spot meows and licks his face, placing her paws on his chest. He smiles affectionately at her and then his vision returns. He lies down on his bed and she rests on his chest.
"I can see again, Spot. " Vul'cak tells Spot. She meows happily and rubs her head against his. He strokes her and she purrs contentedly.
