Sarah replies, "I had wanted to go to the Shore Leave planet, but my daddy had business in the Alpha section so we came here. I have been here for three days and daddy is very busy. Do you have a family?" Vul'cak replies, "I have one son. He is serving the Enterprise E." This got the girl excited. Her mom says, "She has been learning the history of Captain Kirk and she knows Captain Kirk commands the Enterprise. She knows the Vulcan Ambassador was his First Officer."

On the Shore Leave Planet
"Hey what do you think of Admiral Evenstar?" a crewman asks
"I really don't know, I heard she took out an entire borg ship."
"Thats impossible, any normal person would have been assimilated, advanced ship designer or not."
"I heard that she has some weird power, and thats how she became admiral."
"Thats not how she became admiral, she beat Ambassador Spock on the entrance exam, she is an awesome admiral."
"Are you sucking up for something?"
"Does it have to do with the open Commander position?"
"Of course not, how many admirals do you know actually get out from behind the desk."
"Thats actually a good point, most admirals are too stuck up behind the desk to see passed the chair."
the conversation kept carrying on

Vul'cak overheard the crew, and he turns slightly to them. He knew one admiral actually get out from behind the desk. His former Captain. He had heard from the transporter operator that Admiral Evenstar had taken out an entire Borg ship. Sarah asks, "Is something bothering you, Vul'cak?" He replies, "My new shipmates. They are talking about my captain's sister. We are on shore leave." His left shoulder aches and he touches it. Sarah's mum asks, "What is wrong with your shoulder?" He says quietly, "Jim."

Mia actually decides to leave for awhile, when she walks into the lounge area, the the group of crewman suddenly go silent, she walks up to them
"Before you all want to talk bad about me, don't, learn the facts before you speak." She says, the crewmen just look at each other in shock, Mia then walks over to the bar to get a small snack and something to drink, she knew Vul'cak was there

Vul'cak's food came, and he starts eating. Sarah and her mom left, so he was alone at the table. As soon as they left, his tea arrived. He looks around the room, and sees many Klingons, Vulcans, Betazoids, and several other races. He notices Mia, but he concentrates on his food.

"I'm find Dad, where's Mom?" Mia asks
"She's around, you know how she is, where's Micheal?"
"He's around, you know how he is." Mia replies with a smile, her father just laughed

Suddenly there was an argument between a Klingon and a human. The human replies, "I need to do some trading business with you."
Vul'cak gets up, and speaks to the human, "Can you see how many patrons there are in on this planet? There are one hundred and fifty-five humans, eighty-nine Vulcans, one hundred and thirty Betazoids, two hundred and thirteen Klingons, in this room. Why do you want to buy this Klingon's cargo? Surely there are over one hundred traders in this room." The human screams, "NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS, VULCAN." He says, "I am sorry I have to do this." Then he nerve-pinches the human. The woman became unconscious and someone says, "I sensed embarrassment, shame, guilt, and remorse, in her."
The Klingon replies, "Thank you for your help, Vulcan. I will not sell my cargo to this woman as it contains food from Qo'noS. I am sending it to the frozen wasteland of Rura Penthe. Why did she want Klingon food? What does your logical mind say? Would you say it is illogical?" Vul'cak replies, "It is not logical." Then he returns to his table and finishes eating his food.

"Thats the eighth one this week"
"Do you have any bouncers?"
"No."
"Why?" Mia asks
"Never got around to it."
"Seriously......" Mia says
"Yeah."
"Then I'm gonna find a few for you."
"Don't go our of your way for us."
"Dad..... I'm gonna do it, I'm sure if Mom found out...."
"I already know, I've been nagging him for months to hire help." Said a soft voice from the back
"Months huh...... I'm gonna do something about it since I know you won't" Mia says
"Oh come on now you two thats not fair."
"Dad, I don't care, you can't let this stuff keep going on, I'll be right back, hold my stuff until then." Mia then gets up and leaves the lounge
A small group of Andorians with a couple Klingons follow
"Excuse us Admiral, we couldn't help but over here, we don't like being on any star ship and we can't get work anywhere else, we could of some assistance." one of the andorians said
"I'm gonna have to run a check on you just to be sure, I'm not gonna leave help in my parents hands to just anyone." Mia says
"we understand that, do what you have to, We'll give you our names."
"Thats a start." Mia says silently scoping their mind for any form of deceit.

Vul'cak feels it is not logical to make decisions for the bar's owners, and he decides to let Mia decide for her parents. He drinks his plomeek tea as he listens to the conversation among the Evenstar family.

Mia could see no deceit among the group so she introduced them to her father and mother and she set them up around the lounge area so they could watch and observe and prevent any further confrontation.
"Thank you Admiral, we were wondering what we were going to do." said one of the Andorians
"Don't let my Dad slack off like he normally does." Mia says
"Of course Admiral. We know Km'jok, he has told us stories of your of your blood pudding." Said one of the Klingons
"You know Km'jok? I wonder how he's doing, haven't heard from him since the academy." Mia says
"He is on Qo'noS, perhaps you will meet him sometime."
"Maybe, perhaps I'll head over there, I'm on leave so it wouldn't hurt to visit. Maybe bring him some of my blood pudding." Mia says
The klingon actually smiled in a good way

Taking his tea with him, Vul'cak goes over to Mia and her parents. He asks, "You come to this planet for shore leave. Is it because your parents own this bar? Do not get me wrong, Admiral. I like this place since they serve all kinds of food and drinks. I will not be surprised to see some Romulans here, since they do look like Vulcans. I would not mind trying your blood pudding, as I am not always vegetarian."

"Its not often I go on leave, but when I do yes this is where I go. My parents took over this place shortly after we joined the academy. This place is better then it was before and I know Dad is fixing to retire, Mom is still going strong though. I can't get even get Micheal to try it, then again he doesn't try anything that isn't from Earth." Mia says
"Well aren't you going to introduce us?" her Dad asks
"This is Vul'cak, Vul'cak, Mom and Dad, you can just call them Ma and Pa, everyone does." Mia replies

Before that, I was serving under Captain Pike, Captain Kirk, and Captain Picard. My only son needed my vast knowledge and logic when he was assigned to Enterprise D. Ambassador Spock advised me to settle for a quiet life instead of following him. After my near death, protecting Captain Kirk from the Klingon assassin."

"yeah, yeah, yeah." He says going back into the kitchen to cook
"Well I need to be heading back to the ship, I have some things to do." Mia says
"Oh come now, its been awhile since you visited." Ma said
"alright, I can't pass you two up even if I tried." Mia says

Ever since an incident in an alternative reality timeline, we are permanently connected and I know every thought you have in your mind. Now will you stick to Bloodwine? You can tolerate it better than the ale." Vul'cak agrees, and tells Ma, "On second thought, I will have Bloodwine. At least it is legal."

While he was waiting for the bloodwine, Vul'cak looks around. But he was deep in thoughts about his alternative reality experience, which had brought his friendship with Spock closer than ever before even for a Vulcan. He did not really see the patrons, and did not react when an object hits his stomach hard.
"I am very sorry about my son, Mickey. He truly does not listen to me. Are you hurt?" A woman asks Vul'cak. But he did not notice her.

The telepathic message shakes Vul'cak out of his deep thoughts, and he turns to face Ma. He thanks her, and drinks his beverage. As he was drinking, he suddenly feels the pain in his stomach. He lets out a soft moan.
