Mia then appears in his dream and the surroundings seemed to stop "This is your painful memory. We all have one. I don't normally do this but I did meld with you. Did he survive?" Mia asks looking around

Vul'cak replies, "Yes. He survived, and married my mother. When we first connected, I felt his pain of childhood. I wonder why the memory of my first year on the Enterprise surfaces after one hundred and eighteen years."

Upon waking up, Mia actually felt rested, she had a few hours of her time so she stayed in her room for awhile longer.

Vul'cak felt better, after the rest, but his stomach did not agree with him. He decides to get plomeek tea, and goes to the transporter room with Spot, and he transported down.
"Hi, Ma. May I have a pot of plomeek tea, please?" Vul'cak asks Mia's mother. As he waits, he senses fear in a human boy and anger in a human mother. The mother shrilly says, "Go and apologize to the Vulcan now, Cain! Since you did not know what had overcome your senses!"
The boy goes to Vul'cak, and chokes, "I am deeply sorry for shooting that arrow. I was just admiring its worksmanship, and the next thing I remember was being slapped by mama. I don't know what happened."

Vul'cak thanks Ma and asks Cain's mum, "May I mind meld Cain? I need to know why your son did what he did." The mum agrees, and he suggests something to the new guards, who obediently protected them. The he begins the meld.
"I don't like how his captain defeat Kruge, my ancestor. The survivor informed my family about this, Kasvi. Do you see the boy? Plant it into his mind." A Klingon spoke to a Romulan/Vulcan patron in the Klingon language.
Vul'cak breaks the meld and says, "A Klingon did this with a Romulan. He was not happy with Captain Kirk. Cain had the arrow so it was easy." He drinks his tea.

Cain's mother asks, "What did you find out?" Vul'cak replies, "A Klingon did this with a Romulan. He was not happy with Captain Kirk. Cain had the arrow so it was easy. Your son is not greatly at fault. But he must be careful with what he examines. Do not let him bring anything home." The mother takes Cain roughly by the arm, and shrilly says, "We are going home to your father NOW!" Then she and her protesting son left him.
He agrees, "Yes. Not all Klingons are bad. I had viewed them as a bad species until I met Worf. I initially had my doubts until he saved my life. I am sure there are good Romulans out there." He thinks of the only good Romulan, whose name he will not reveal to anyone.

"Some of the Klingon patrons that I get every now and then, even the bouncers that Mia got for us aren't bad, they just have their temperaments. Then again we all do." Ma says

Vul'cak knows too well about temperaments. When he returned to Captain Pike's timeline, he was a heart-broken Vulcan with too much grief and he was more emotional than Spock on Talos IV. He was very angry, and vengeful towards Sarek. Towards Spock, he was very tenderly loving and kind-heartily. He had been treating Spock as more than a brother, since he came back.
"Yes we do, Ma. I know this all too well. I was more emotional than the Ambassador, and even encouraged our captain to gut out of command decisions. However, I became less emotional temperament in the eleven years I spent with Captain Pike. What were Captain Michael and his sister like?" Vul'cak says.

"oh Mia would tease Michael all the time once she discovered her powers, Michael is more like an empath he can't do what she can. She actually never wanted to be a part of star fleet, but pa and Michael goated her on so to quiet them, she joined." Ma said

Vul'cak became wary and reassured , at the same time, that he has found a captain capable of curbing his emotional curiosity. His new captain may be able to understand his emotions.
"I would often tease the Ambassador as well as my son. Yes. Mia's powers enable her to destroy a Borg ship all by herself. I am impressed." Vul'cak replies.

With a serious tone "She can do more then destroy a borg ship my dear, she annihilated a Y class planet, something happened in her ensign years, she won't tell me or Pa, anyway some entity began to abduct members of the ship she was assigned to, all I know is that she was the only one willing to actually go down there to see what was going on. Last I heard of it, what she saw wasn't good and she lost it, destabilizing the core I guess but she returned from the planet alone and angry, the rest is history and you won't hear anything about it from starfleet or the records, it was deemed sealed. You would have to get her to try and tell you but good luck with that one." Ma says

Vul'cak replies, "It will be illogical." He looks around and sees more humans than Klingons, as he waits for his food.
Telepathically, he was informed that the Enterprise is heading to the Romulan neural zone, as it seem logical. He telepathically thanks his son for the information. His son said, "As a Vulcan, I know more about Romulans than Borgs. Captain heard my sound logic."

He telepathically speaks to his son, as he eats, "I am glad Skon came to the Forge to bring my father home. Otherwise, I would not be here. But the Le-Matya clawed his back. He lived a normal life like his friend with less love."
"I know it is hard, brother. Think of my grandfather, and how he had cared for your father." Spock telepathically replied.

"I know. There aren't many things that I don't know. We have a couple more days of free time. Lets see what happens between now and then. Its the borg I worry about. If they are seen here again, there will be to many people in the way for me to stop them." Mia finished the last half of her sentence telepathically, she didn't want anyone else to worry that wouldn't be directly involved.
