This is the story of two boys who were blood brothers from infancy.
Disclaimer: I do not own Star Trek or its characters. But I do own Vulcak, Tmaei, and Keras, and their families.
Prologue
"Wahahhhhhhhhh!" cried Vulcak, as a nurse carries him, and her colleague washed him with a beaker. After the infant was washed, the nurse carrying him brings him to his mother's waiting arms in a towel. He was still crying as his mother holds him, and his mother says, "Hello there!" However, Tmaei was a Vulcan and she had learnt long ago to suppresses her emotions. She strokes her son's head, and he stops crying. He eventually goes to sleep.
The door opens, and a male Vulcan appears. He approaches the bed where the infant and his mother were, and sits down. He looks down at the infant and asks, "What shall we name the child?"
Tmaei replies, "How about Vulcak? Vul from our race, and Cak from my father's name, Carek, without the 're'."
Keras though about it, and then he replies, "It is logically right, Maei. I like the name, and Sarek's wife is due to give birth any day now. Would you mind if he is allowed to see our newborn son?"
Tmaei looks at her husband and at the open door, where she caught a glimpse of a Vulcan. She looks back at her husband, and replies, "I have faith in you, Keras. Call him in."
Keras instructs the nurse to call Sarek out and she obediently goes to the opened door.
"Sarek, you may come out to see the baby." The nurse tells Sarek.
Sarek came out of the opened door and stands on the other side of Tmaei. He looks at the baby and at Keras. Keras saw him looking at him, and he says, "His name is Vulcak. Vul from our race, and cak from Carek's name. I told Tmaei it is a logical name. How is Amanda?" Keras shows infant Vulcak to Sarek and Sarek says, "He looks like you, Keras. Knowing you, I will accept your decision for Vulcak. It may go against my wishes for my own child but I will be a mentor to your son. Do not forget that, Keras."
Keras asks, "Even if Vulcak goes to another academy instead of the Vulcan Science Academy? I may not like it too, but I want only the best for my son. Would it be okay if Vulcak come and see your baby, who is due to be born soon?"
Sarek replies, "I will check with my wife and then I will let you know by tomorrow. You are my friend and I would want my own child to be a friend with your Vulcak." Then he leaves the family.
The next day.....
Sarek came early, and talked to Keras in private. Keras faced Sarek and waited. Then Sarek spoke, "Amanda wishes for our children to be friends, as you are friends with me. She expects my child to be teased, due to his mixed heritage and wishes Vulcak to stay with my child as long as they live."
Keras replies, "It is my desire the two children be friends from infancy. I will encourage my son to stand by your child always."
Two days later........
Sarek was grieved and Tmaei says, "I will come now and see your baby, with my son. It is Keras's last wish that the two see each other and be friends from the beginning." She was grieving but she controls her emotions and wishes to fulfill her husband's final wishes. She carries her sleeping son and follows Sarek to his home.
When they were near the home, she faintly heard the cries of the newborn baby and she says, "Your child is born."
When Sarek went out to see his own baby, Tmaei talks to her son, "You are too young to know your own father, however, your father has instructed me to be proud of you, no matter what choices you made. It is his wish too that you support his friend's son in life. I shall support your choice. Make sure your logical choice is right for Sarek's child and that you do not get him into trouble. The child will be teased, I expect, as Sarek's wife is not a Vulcan. Sarek is a Vulcan, like you and me. Stand by the child, always, even if you are completely disgusted with the other Vulcan children. Do not run away from Sarek's child."
Shortly after she has finished speaking, her son was awake and made a noise. He reaches for her face and she says, "Good. I hope you understand what I am saying."
Then she heard her name being called, and she goes outside to see Amanda smiling at her. Amanda sees Vulcak and smiles, "Here is Vulcak at last. He has come to see Spock."
Sarek replies, "I named him Spock after one of the Vulcan societies. Amanda likes the name and that is my son's name."
Tmaei brings her son closer to Spock, and Vulcak reaches out for Spock.
"Oh look, TMaei, Vulcak wants to befriend Spock!" Amanda laughs, seeing Vulcak trying to touch Spock's face.
Sarek says, "This is going to be the start of a long friendship. Spock will be grateful to him as he will be supporting my son. Am I right, Tmaei?"
TMaei replies, "That is logically sound. I will train my son to support yours, so that Spock will not feel so lonely." Then her son touches Spock's ear, and Spock wakes up. The two infants touched each other's hands.
Amanda laughs, "They are friends already! This is great. With Vulcak at his side, Spock will be able to get through the Vulcan Learning Center."
