My life as a Trekker began in 1966 with the episode 'The Man Trap'. I watched this episode at a friend's house, and when I came home, I could not stop humming the intro. I beg my adopted parents to buy a television set, and my adopted parents discussed with each other at bedtime. Two days later, we went to the shop to buy a tv.
My adopted sister, who later became my best friend, supports me although she did not follow the series with me. Her sister said bad things about a character and I was deeply troubled by this. My best friend tells me that the character is sweet, and encouraged me to favour this character just to spite her own sister. So my love for Spock began. When my friend first met Rob, I was again attacked verbally. I asked my older sister, "Is he any different from Spock?" She kept quiet. Inspired by the friendship between Kirk and Spock, I encouraged my younger sister to start a friendship with Rob.
Seeing the friendship between my younger sister and Rob, I decided to start the friendship too. From that moment on, I slowly took the friendship further with Rob.
