History: Spirk is Sarek's and Amanda's younger son. He was born five years before the rift between Sarek and Spock, and he did not disappoint his father, by enrolling at Vulcan Science Academy. There he was repeatedly attacked and teased by the other Vulcans.
He was commissioned as an Intrepid officer in 2244, and by 2268, he was assigned to the USS Intrepid.
In 2268, his former classmates returned to attack and tease him, accusing his father of being a traitor for marrying "that Human whore," Spirk lost emotional control and was so angered that he violently beat up the lead tormentor, exhibiting such rage that, despite their advantage in size and numbers, the other two made no attempt to help their friend. He was scheduled to be placed on the ill-fated Intrepid but his subconconscious was troubling him so much that he did not board the shuttle that was to take him to the spaceship. He logically decided to go to a template to seek forgiveness.
