"Just call me 'Zira', 'my lady' makes me feel old.....er...... I don't tell that to many people." Zira says as the shuttle lands on Korriban, the group exits and heads towards the academy, they pass by the tomb of the Great Tulak Hord and manage to reach the academy steps. "Remember to stay close and refrain from looking around too much, some of the other masters' aren't exactly kind to strangers thats why they're here. We can look around after Demeara's trial, not before, also ignore strange looks, not everyone here knows of this alliance, people here have slightly better things to do then keep up with what goes on with the rest of the galaxy if you know what I mean." Picard was getting antsy, Zira could tell, he really wanted to look around these tombs and some other archaeological expedition stuff, Zira made sure to keep him close. "These markings..... what are they?" Beverly asks "Ancient Sith text, and yes I can read them." Beverly shut her mouth since that was the question she was going to ask next, they continue on.

S''pock stayed close to Zira, and avoids looking around. He whispers, "Fascinating." He has his daddy's cat-like curiousity, which he knows too well and which got him into trouble at times.

Even before Zira has started speaking, Spirk was already looking around. He was curious. "Fascinating."

"Indeed it is fascinating, unless its something you see every day for the next six years, then it becomes rather old." Zira says as she and the group finally at the steps of the Sith Academy "Here we are. Remember what I said. Its important from here out." Zira then begins to climb the long steep stairs

Zira enters the academy and the instructors show their respects to her and as expected gives vile looks to everyone else. Zira leads everyone to the arena seats, now was the time for young acolytes to become an apprentice to a stronger master

Zira was actually impressed that Demera was really doing well, better then the acolytes before her. The fight was getting down to the end, and this was only the first part of her trial, if she completes the second half then Demera will be a full apprentice and will go to a new master for further training. With the first half finally completed it was time to move on to the second, this was the furthest anyone has gotten today this was also where your training would save you, you are thrust into a pitch black room, at the end was a light, that light was your goal.
Demera trusted herself to the finish for she knew that one misstep and she could be done for.

Spirk closes his eyes and concentrates on the darkness. Five minutes later, he was able to 'see' Demora's surroundings.

"I didn't have to do any of this, so this is actually kinda new. I never had a future apprentice either. Anyway you see those 12 beefy looking Sith over there *Points* that is the Dark Council, appointed by the Emperor himself, they actually listen to the Emperor, Lord Vader and myself, they are the ones that actually decided that if Demera survives these trials that she should be my apprentice instead of one of theirs or whoever they choose to send them to."
Demera could hear the faint breathing of something that lurked in the darkness, she had her hands on her lightsaber just in case she would need it, a few times she almost lost her footing, she knew that this mistake would be her last. Treading carefully she reached the datacron but before she was able to reach it a former apprentice, that was deemed a failure who wouldn't take this opportunity to be an apprentice to one of the greatest figures in the Empire, came out and attacked her, Zira knew that this would be a good test for Demera so she motioned to the Dark Council to allow this to happen, they nod in unison as Demera uses her skill to combat the failed apprentice.
"Any questions?" Zira asks

"The Emperor can't be everywhere. They do what they must but ultimately listen to the Emperor. Because if I didn't this failure would keep going with trying to get a master to teach what he isn't willing to learn, from what I understand this is the third time he's tried to 'prove' himself...... well.... if he proves anything, it will prove how much of a failure he really is..... if he lives his fate will be decided later...... If he lives" Zira says
Demera reads her opponent's every move, this person has failed his trials before because he thought he was better then everyone else and wouldn't listen to anyone, not even his teacher and that got him into trouble with the motion of this allowed to continue, Demera knew that something would have to be done.

"As I said before, a failure, think of us as Klingons, we don't acknowledge failures by name. The ones that actually know him might." Zira says
-on the field- "So cutie little Demera almost got to the datacron, to bad you won't be Master Zira's apprentice, I'll kill you and take that Datacron so that I will be the new apprentice, think about it, she is the third most powerful sith in the Empire, who wouldn't want it." "You don't want to be apprentice to learn you just want it for bragging rights." "Perhaps, But lets just see how far you have come." Demera and the Failure continue to fight on the field

Zira just smiles.
After a few moments of fighting, Demera could see the real reason why this guy was such a flunky, he was weak and slow, without hesitation she delivered the killing blow.

The arena fell silent, Demera took a few deep breaths then going for the datacron, thus completing her challenge. The dark council give their approval and Demera would promptly be assigned to Zira. "And that ladies and gentlemen is how its done here." Zira says to her Federation friends "Seems rather barbaric don't you think?" Picard asks "You have to understand captain, this is how its been long before me and it hasn't much changed if it wasn't for the failure she would have to combat a Nabooian Tusk cat, I know you are unfamiliar with those but think of a mountain lion the size of a horse, the males have domination problems especially when in mating season and attack anything and everything that walk by, the females however can be tamed like a ride able pet, I had one for a little while." "What happened to it?" Beverly asks "She got sick and passed on and I was right there with her." Zira replies

Spirk starts, having forgotten that he and S'pock were with Captain Picard and Dr Crusher. He says, "The feline native of my home world is same sized as a mountain cat and by the sound of this tusk cat, it may make our feline puny. Does your feline have poison in its claws?"
